Salamanca, a historic and culturally rich city in western Spain, offers multiple transportation options for travelers coming from Madrid Adolfo Suarez – Barajas Airport. Here are the primary ways to journey from Aeropuerto Adolfo Suárez Madrid-Barajas to Salamanca:
Train: There are two options for train travel between Madrid and Salamanca. Boarding a direct train from Madrid-Chamartín-Clara Campoamor railway station to Salamanca is one of the most efficient ways to travel between the two cities and takes around 1h40m using the so-called ALVIA train. Alternatively, there is a slower train (so-called: media distancia train) from Madrid Principe Pio railway station allowing passengers to enjoy scenic views of the Sistema Central mountain range and the Spanish countryside along the way and takes around 3h.
Both options can be booked at https://www.renfe.com/es/en. For both train options, the cercanias commuter train or Madrid metro system are the best (cheapest) options to travel between the airport and the rail station. Of course you can take a taxi; it will be a bit more expensive than the public transportation but easiest and most convenient and they have a flat rate from the airport to downtown Madrid (~35€). Bus: A direct coach exists from Madrid Barajas airport but with only 3-4 buses each day and takes around 2h45m. This option is the cheapest and easiest option as it is direct from the airport and you do not need to travel into central Madrid. Coaches can be booked at https://www.monbus.es. This direct daily service from ‘Aeropuerto Adolfo Suárez Madrid-Barajas (MAD) to Salamanca departs at 13:00; 17:00 and 19:00h; and on sundays there is also a service at 9:00 am (e.g., sunday, 15th sept).

Car: If you prefer a more personalized and flexible approach, driving from Madrid to Salamanca is an option. You can take the A-6 highways and then connect the A-50 to Salamanca , which connects the two cities and offers a road trip with beautiful landscapes and the possibility to explore charming towns along the route.
